Further Entry on our Adventures with Lorraine Warren
Sorry for the lack of updates. We spent two weeks of our three weeks of Christmas break shooting and investigating cases out of state. I then returned to move in to my new house and then went back on the road to do MORE cases and episodes. Let me tell you something... amazing stuff. Can I reveal anything? Ha, of course not, silly. I will say that I got to work on my first case with Lorraine Warren.
How can I describe Lorraine Warren? She is the female version of Albus Dumbledore (the aged headmaster of Hogwarts School in the "Harry Potter" books). People tend to think that she's something of the past and faded, but I give you my word that she has more wit, straight-forwardness and charisma than any other investigator I have ever spoken with. Period. What else can I say? This broad knows how to bring it.
The film crew just fell for Lorraine on a personal level. She sat everyone around and told old war stories of possessed dolls, the Enfield case (which Ed worked on), demonic infestations and, more interestingly to the females on the crew, how she and Ed fell in love.
I know that this field is very cutthroat and that everyone fights for who's more credible than who, who has more books published than who and all that bullshit, but if you don't have respect for the Warrens, then I'm not sure I'd have any respect for you. That's just me being straightforward and honest. They've been there and done that. Lorraine, bless her, is now out there doing the same things, only on her own. And she doesn't even flinch. She's one tough broad, so I can only imagine how Ed was. My I do wish I got to meet Ed in real life. According to Lorraine, we have some things in common.
Lorraine helped me to appreciate certain things that I had forgotten to appreciate. I had done a number of cases where the clients (as you know, our goal is not to find paranormal evidence, but to investigate the truth of every claim and help people) had refused our help, did everything we asked them not to, etc. They pretty much did everything but spit in my face after we drove more than a hundred miles back and forth to help them, spent our own money, and our time, to learn that they didn't want our help to begin with. It was very discouraging. And I found myself slowing down. It was just another day in the office when someone came to us for help. But here's Lorraine, who has been investigating since before my MOTHER was born, and she's definitely seen her share of non-responsive clients. She's faced a heck of a lot of political bullcrap within religious organizations, yet she still wears a smile and does whatever she can to help. And there's sincerity.
She didn't come out with us because we were doing a television show. In fact, it seems that no matter how many times I told her about it, she always forgot. She did it, as she explained to my producers, for me. She wanted to repay me for the way PRS honored her late husband at the conference. That, in turn, made my heart melt. True honor and respect. It's something very hard to find in this field, and sometimes even I falter at our disciplined motto of To Trust, Honor and Always Seek the Truth.
But she woke me up inside, letting me know that a few bad clients can never be enough to outweigh the potential good in others. It's not like I didn't help clients after I felt discouragement. Not at all. I still did what I could, I just didn't feel that fire inside. It was a short-lived coldness, I'm happy to say, because I'm more than back on my game. I think I handle 2-3 cases a week, on top of other responsibilities, projects, and a dog. And I'm happy despite the fact that I have maybe ten minutes of free time to check email.
So, Lorraine, thank you for your support and friendship. I know you're not reading this, but I just want the whole world (or, the couple thousand people who read this, but it's a start) how much I appreciate your generosity and kindness. I think the world needs more Lorraine Warrens. One of my Top Ten big things that I hope comes out of our TV show is that people rediscover the Warrens. They have a lot of stuff to say, especially to those who want to enter the demonology field. Don't read all that other bullshit out there. Start with "The Demonologist" then move to their other books. Then come to UNIV-CON to hear their tales through Lorraine.
There were so many great moments with Lorraine over the case, but I think I'll share that for another time. But I'm happy to announce that she'll be in a few more episodes.
I'm behind in discussing the million other topics that I wish to discuss. We're looking to post more photos from the show (behind-the-scenes stuff, that is), and I also want to write about Medium Coffey, Chip Coffey that is. But I'll save that one for another blog.
I really want to write in more detail about the cases we've done, the people we've met and the conflicts we've come up against. But it's only fair that we wait until you can see the half-hour summary for yourself. Then I'll be happy to go into more detail here and in other places.

What a wonderful post, Ryan. Glad to know she's still on top of her game. None of those other "demonologists" compare to her.

Let me just say how glad I am that I stumbled across this blog! I personally know what a wonderful woman my grandmother is and to read your beautiful commentary at this particular time was needed, with all the negativity sometimes surrounding cases! (I know she would be thrilled to hear what you have to say -only because I know how highly she thinks of you!) Thank you so much!

Your grandmother is truly a remarkable woman as was your grandfather. My condolences for your loss. I'm just starting my studies in demonology. I had lots of other training and learning to get through first. I have only the utmost respect and love for her and also for Ryan. Please give her my warmest regards and tell her to ignore all the negative comments. Love to you and blessed be...

I found your blog by accident. Very impressive. As a child, I had a few weird psychic episodes (predicting deaths in my family in dreams). Later, I had a couple of spirit encounters. Anyway, that started my interest in the paranormal. I started reading Ed and Lorraine Warren's books. I snuck into Connecticut college to hear them speak once, and went to a conference where Lorraine spoke in 2004. I know exactly what you mean about the strength of her eyes when you are near her. Anyway, just a little side story. I went with my friend Barbara, and my boyfriend, Jim. It was open seating, and when we got there, we couldn't get 3 seats together. Barbara and I were on one side of the room and Jim was on the other. Lorraine and her son in law entered and the lecture began. During the intermission, Barbara and I went to meet Lorraine and purchase one of her books. Jim went to the lobby to the men's room - he's really not into anything supernatural, but humors me. When we got to the front of the line, I asked Lorraine if she would mind signing the book. She agreed and asked what names she should make it out to. We told her to make it out to Paul and Barbara. She then asked "What about the other gentleman that is in the lobby?" I gave his name, and she added it. When I asked how she knew about him, that we were together, she replied that sometimes she just knows things like that. Right there I was sold that she's the real deal.

Please change the colors of your website I can hardly read the black writing, also I was told that black and red demons are attracted to.

Julie,
I have been a Joseph Campbell fan for a long time and studied art history, American English Authors, and Spanish in college. I have a bachelor's degree and a master's degree, and have many, many interests. One thing that I know about symbolism, especially involving color, red is symbolic of sacrifice, as in the blood of Christ, (except in the far East it is considered good luck). You are right on about black, it is a color meaning malice. However, when you take both colors together, what it is saying is that the blood of Christ washes away the evil because of His sacrifice, we are saved from the blackness of hell. I hope that helps you.
Sincerely,
Suzi K

It was good to see Lorraine Warren still working. I was very sad to hear about her husband's death. I was fortunate enough to hear them both lecture at URI just after the Amityville Horror book came out, and I was fascinated by what they had to say and show us. All the paranormal experiences I had kept to myself to avoid ridicule suddenly seemed vindicated. My sister and I have been 'legend tripping' (unofficial investigating since our teens--over 40 years-- and it's nice to know we're not crazy--we are the avatar! Look at the TV and movie offerings. Glad to see Lorraine has weathered all the unnecessary nastiness over Amityville-- as you say, there are many ways to investigate the paranormal, and no one has the patent on it. Love the show--be careful and watch out for each other.
Author's Response: I'm sure Lorraine will be thrilled to hear the support. It's actually quite remarkable because so many people from around the country have thanked us for bringing her on our show. One of my biggest regrets in my young life is knowing that I'll never get to meet Ed Warren. He is missed by many.

I JUST STARTED WATCHING YOUR EPISODES LAST WEEK. I'M NOT MUCH OF A T.V. WATCHER UNLESS A MOVIE IS ON. I'VE READ MANY OF THE WARRENS' BOOKS AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN FASCINATING WITH THE OCCULT AND THE SUPERNATURALNESS INVOLVED WITH CHRISTIANITY. I HAVE EVOKED AND WITNESSED PHENOMENON THROUGH MY ACTIONS ALONG MY PATH OF EVOLVING INTO THE PERSON I AM NOW; AWARE,FORGIVING,REPENTFUL,AND TRULY GIVING MY SOUL AND LIFE TO JESUS CHRIST, THE FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN,AND THE HOLY SPIRIT. I GIVE MY REPECTS TO ED WARREN AND MAY HE EXPLORE AND DWELL IN PEACE. I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE LORRAINE WARREN ON ONE OF YOUR EPISODES,THAT WAS AWESOME.ED AND LORRAINE ARE TOUGH SPIRITUAL BEINGS THAT DEFY BOUNDARIES.I WISH I WAS AS TOUGH AS THEM BUT I HAD AND STILL HAVE OCCASIONALLY EPISODES OF PARANORMAL ACTIVITY AROUND ME FROM TIME TO TIME.I'M STRONG AND EXTREMELY HAPPY, SO NOTHING BOTHERS ME TO AN EXTENT.I'VE BATTLED MOST OF MY INNER DEMONS AND HAVE WON BUT THERE ARE STILL A FEW I NEED TO IRON OUT.I LOVE YOUR SHOW AND WITH ALL OF YOUR POSITIVENESS,WILL ALWAYS WIN OVER DARKNESSES CREATURES.ANYTHING THAT IS MISERABLE WHETHER IT BE HUMAN OR NONHUMAN WILL ALWAYS BE REPELLED OR ANGRY WITH ANYTHING POSITIVE,IN OTHER WORDS MISERY BREEDS JEALOUSY.I'D BE PISSED OFF IF I WERE THERE WITH NO BODY AND NOT BEING HERE WITH A BODY ENJOYING ALL SENSES OF THE NOW. EVERYTHING REAPS WHAT THEY SOW.I WISH YOURSELF AND YOUR CREW, AS WELL AS LORRAINE WARREN ALL THE POSITIVE POWERS IN THIS WORLD AND FROM THE HEAVENS.THANK YOU AND YOU ALL HAVE A GOODDAY OR GOODNIGHT. GOODBYE. 12-19-07, A.B.

I just recently watched your show. I like to think of myself as a somewhat skeptic, looking for the smallest inconsistency in a story to disprove it. However I have a "knack" for knowing when people are being honest or dishonest. I have top say after seeing your television show and the well respected associates you deal with, I believe, you sir, are the real thing. I only trust a few in the paranormal community, you and Lorraine Warren are two. From your show I have also learned of Mr.Coffey whom I get a wonderful feeling of truthfulness from. I just like to say from the less sensitive ordinary people like myself, Thank You. Thank you for being brave and strong enough in your faith to battle the evilness in this world.Thank you for helping people that do not know how to help themselves. May GOD bless you and all those around you.May he keep you safe ( which we know he will). You are in our prayers.

Hello there, Ryan. I hope and pray all is well with you, your family and all of the PRS Team.
I would like to thank you for honoring Lorraine Warren as I feel she is a truly special and gifted soul. I have always wanted to one day meet her and Ed. Gosh, I was so saddened to hear of Ed's passing but happy because I know He's with God as he too did "God's Will."
I feel you have been extremely Blessed to know Lorraine as well as many of the colleagues you work with. I am actually a person who is considered "sensitive" and I can tell good from bad and truth from fallacy. And from what I can sense, you all are the real deal and have other's best interest at heart. Just like Jesus.
Please be careful in all you do and your investigations. And please never lose faith. I too believe that you are fallowing that God has intended for you. All of you. God Bless and may peace be with you all!
Love and Blessings,

Hi, I just started watching your show today. It's great! I'm looking forward to watching more of them. There's a quote at the beginning of your show where you mention the reason why you started researching the paranormal. I'm not sure it's stated in your blog or anywhere online, but what exactly did you see that terrified you so much? Could you write an entry on this vision? or did I miss it somewhere on your blog? Thanks and nice work with the show.

Dear Ryan,
I'm as skeptical as the next person when it comes to people who claim to have paranormal gifts, but I saw Mrs. Warren several years ago on some television show and there was simply no doubt that she was the real deal. I followed up on the internet about her and her husband; their warmth and sincerity just reaches out and envelopes you in good feelings. What I wanted to say to you Ryan is that I caught your show over the weekend - it must have been a season one marathon or something and I also watched the season two show last night. Your show is incredible; I was glued to the tv! Your sincerity, warmth, and humility also comes through just like the Warren's. God Bless you and your entire group, Ryan.

This one won't be as pleasant.
I began watching your show on its first air date and the moment I saw Lorraine Warren I had to sigh. I was hoping for a scientific approach to paranormal investigation that included true understanding of "spirits" and how they effect the world around us.
Instead I saw a group of easily swayed youngsters that had to bring in the fabricator of one of the largest scams of the 1970's to bolster their shows credibility.
And the name of a demon coming in a dream? It sounds like ******* (another huge sigh), the name in mixed letters, WANTS you to defeat him, allowing you to know who he is so easily. No "demon" worth his salt would EVER tell you his name, as it would allow you some control over him. Whatever this is that plagued your dreams is no demon, only wanting you to think that it is. Sounds like you should consult an Onieromancer before jumping into thinking it's a minion of Satan.
A "Demon war" tends to be fought on a different level, a different plane, if they are ever revealed to be a "demon" at all. And it takes someone of far greater skill than I have seen on television to see the truth, including Lorraine Warren.
Don't get me wrong. I used to think she was great too. But listening and watching her and the Defeo interview, along with personal experience in the field have made me see that there is more to her involvement in the paranormal than bringing the truth to the masses. Not saying she isn't good, but she DEFINITELY isn't great and one cannot trust her to stay non-biased and un-leading when one wants a scientific approach.
I will continue to watch in hopes that make a change, but I am not sure if I should get my hopes up. As yet I have seen nothing amazing, simply a show about people talking about how things scare them and no, zero, evidence of things moving.
What did the motion sensor reveal in the dogs getting hit by cars case? Was that ever revealed or was Chip's channeling and Lorraine telling us that "roots growing through a fresh corpse" was signs of ritualistic slaying supposed to make us forget about that part?
And for the record, a corpse will stay "fresher" longer when wrapped in a tarp, and roots will grow over anything buried. I would LOVE to see the documentation about the evidence she has that has been verified about the comment she made.
Some people SAY things. Some people KNOW things. Some people will BELIEVE anything.
I know it's just a show, but I hope things get better.
Matthew

Everyone has a right the their own opinion, but until you have been there and done that (Ryan's and Lorraine's personal experiences) you should NOT dis either of them!!! Have you SEEN a demon or a hellhound??? I seriously doubt it... When you do it's not like "OMG, what the **** is that? That's sooo weird...", there are some things a person just knows regardless of "religious" orientation. Even an atheist would recognize such things! There is a reason Ryan knows this demon's name; he is meant to know it. Even knowing the name only gives someone limited power over it. I don't know what your personal experience has been, but I pray for your sake that it hasn't included demonic attacks. A "demon war" is fought wherever a demon chooses to manifest as well as on another plane of existence. The comment about roots growing through NOT over a fresh corpse is unnatural; over is natural, through is not. Roots will take the path of least resistance and a fresh corpse will provide a lot of that whereas a decomposed corpse would not. I am totally not trying to dis you at all, I just think you should show some respect for the work these guys are doing. Are you out there trying to help people??? I am a Divine Interventionist Metaphysical Minister, psychic, and solitary Christian witch (yes,Christian) and I have ghostbusted, done clearings, and banished a demon from my own home. If you don't know what Divine Intervention is see www.starrfuentes.com or www.kris2owls.com. There is much, much more to it than what is described on those sites. We also heal disincarnates and the earth in addition to what I mentioned earlier that I have done. I have the utmost respect for Ryan and all the PRS members; I wish I had had the guts to do what they are doing when I was their age. It's more mainstream now than it was back then and living in the Southern Baptist Bible belt as I do only made things harder on me. When I was 4, I saw spirits around my newborn brothers crib at night and innocently assumed everyone saw such things and innocently enough at church one day I told someone. The minister took me into a private room and told me the devil was working through me and trying to take me over. Can you imagine what that can do to a 4 year old's psyche??? It crippled my psychic awareness and robbed me of my innocence and made me AFRAID. To this day, I still cannot and will not sleep in the dark. At the age of 16 I had my first encounter with a demon (who, btw still tries to catch me off guard) because I tried to banish it without knowing anything about what to do. My oldest daughter has been repeatedly attacked is her sleep by this mf and scratched severely. This occurred over several years and increased in severity while I was away training in my field. My teachers helped me put a protective portal over my home and property to keep any spirits out of my home who don't have any business visiting. (The demon I banished from my home came in thru an open window) Blessed be...

Cindy Lou. You seem to be the expert at everything but still have so much fear that you can't turn off the lights? Have you no control over the things that scare you?
As for a minister taking some 4 year old into a room, telling you the devil was working through you? Where were your parents in this church you went to? Any meeting some guy wants with my four year old is going to be with me, and I would have hit him in the eye.
I do not doubt that you have had your experiences. I do not doubt that Ryan and Lorraine have had theirs. But anyone with a good sales pitch can have a show about "paranormal investigation". The main problem I see with this show is that it is not about proof, about proving that people are being helped. It is about saying they were with no evidence.
Any Joe off the street can say he solved something and show no evidence to support the solve. By the way, I solved the federal budget deficit but the paperwork was lost. See? Not too difficult.
What I want to see, as someone who has experienced a number of the things that you don't believe that I did, is PROOF. SHOW me the manifesting scratches, not the after effect. Place the cameras in the room so that we can SEE the supernatural things that are manifesting. Any show about "I helped them" is just as much junk as a guy playing Halo 3 saying he really DID save the universe from aliens. I don't like my intelligence insulted.
I've been there. SHOW me. Don't talk about how scared you are. Don't show me creepy pictures of terrified people in the dark listening to things only they can hear. SHOW me. A Show based on helping with no visual evidence is just like every other amateur that fumbles through not knowing what it is they are doing and being fooled into thinking that they helped some poor family and having whatever dark force laugh at them when the say a prayer and bury some "blessed" metals to safeguard things. Simply telling the spirit that it's not wanted does absolutely nothing.
It's not that easy. Anyone who thinks it is has never been truly tested. But it sure can sell to the spongers can't it?
For the record, I don't need some old Native American guy telling me the stories. I know the stories. I don't want some woman telling me that the glass flew off the shelf. All of us have heard it all before. Currently, this show has the same things everyone else has to offer. Nothing. There is no originality in its filming, its stories. Its the same old footage we always see but with fresh faces.
When do we get to see something that stops insulting our intelligence and shows us the TRUE events, instead of just the hearsay?
I still have yet to stop watching as I am hoping that someday, somewhere, someone will SHOW the glass fly across the room. Someone will SHOW a set of green orbs fly through a room. Someone will SHOW a dark shadow materialize through a wall and float by some spectators.
But I am not holding my breath.

I also am happy to see Mrs. Warren involved in your cases from time to time. So what if she differs a bit from what is "main stream" these days. She has been respected by myself and others for a long time and I would not hesitate to ask for her assistance if the need arose. Ms. Warren has been doing her thing for many years and I am sure that she knows what she is doing when it comes to matters relating to the paranormal. The group can only benefit to surround themselves with good knowledgable people like Mrs. Warren and Chip Coffey.

I am so happy to see Mrs. Warren on your show. I grew up in Bridgeport CT area until a few years ago. I miss her conferences that I use to attend annually at the Sterling House in Stratford. I truely respect her and her late husband for all the good they do to help people. Lorraine is a wonderful and very strong woman and it is great to see she still dedicates herself to all that she does for others. God bless you Lorraine!

My friend I have watched several of your shows and today a friend of mine who herself is a demon hunter contacted me and told me about what she /and another friend had observed on line. From your show I missed your address and was unable to express my concern over what you had mistakenly done in trying to help the people in the house when you brought the demonic attention upon yourself.
As a christian mystic I learned long ago that once you cross the line and begin to work within this new and often challenging world you become held to the letter of the law. Before your innocence protected you. Before you were easily overlooked. On that day you and your team spoke the demons name three times. At that point you drew his attention and became subject to all of the laws associated with this new world. You made your self and your team on that day a major target. Demons don't like being called forth especially by those who are unable to cast them back into the abyss or to eliminate their energies from existence. New unknowing individuals often pay a price that they are not prepared to pay. This demon has now made its mission either to posses you or to utterly destroy you. You need to learn quickly how to shield and defend yourself. Congratulations you have joined the battle between the forces of good and evil. Sadly you made a second grave mistake that has now exposed your colleagues and others who support you and innocence that tends to read your adventures on site. My friend tells me that in your adventures article about when you came across the demon that you have posted his name. Anyone who reads and repeats his name three times draws his attention and those who tend to mock others concerning you claim freely within their house saying his name three times now run the risk of drawing his attention without knowing or being prepared for the consequences. I recommend that you remove the demons name from the article so that other innocence does not run the risk of accidently invoking his attentions and wrath. Meanwhile their are those of us who are most aware of what you are going through that are working in an attempt to pull him off your ass and remove his influence so that others are not adversely affected. Please note; Exorcisms are interesting but often leave the demonic presence in the world to strike again. For this to be effective you really need to be prepared to summon the entity into a protected circle and destroy its energy removing it from all planes of existence. This can be done by those who have been granted special gifts from higher powers or from those who have mastered/learned carefully the arts of how to properly dispose of demonic spirits. I admire you for your attempt however when dealing with spirits and demons never ever speak their names 3 times unless you are prepared to deal with the actions that they are about to release. Never post the name in a place where innocence can stumble and be harmed

I met Ed and Lorraine back in the 1970's when I first became involved in paranormal research. Ed and Lorraine spoke about their investigation of the house in the village of Amityville, New York. Providing excellent insight and information about the case. The slide presentation by Ed, yes, slide no power point was amazing. One that still is fresh in my memory is a photo taken by Ed of the children at Amityville. The mother was in another room with Lorraine, yet her image was captured on the photo of the children standing behind them, watching and protecting them. Ed had the photo analyze by Kodak to provide support that the picture had not be doctored. It is unfortunate that many people automatically accept the opinions of others as their own without taking the time to research the subject matter themselves. Those individuals become easy targets and prey for Yaldabaoth. Ludwig Wittgenstein once said "Wovon man nicht sprechen kann, daruber muss man schweigen." Translate, "That about which one cannot speak, about that one must be silent."
The Raggedy Ann Doll case is another story that stays with you. Ryan, if Lorraine didn't tell you about the doll, ask her, it still should be in the display case. Lorraine adds great credibility to your show and it was great to see her on tv. The timing for the show is right and the approach is right. Peace be with you.

How can anyone say such awful things about a woman who has given so many years of her life to helping others in ways that no other person would have dared to.
And Chip Coffey?? What a wonderfully caring and unique individual! I watched his "Psychic Kids" show and what he did for those young people will completely change the direction of their lives for the better...literally!! He is a special human being as is Loraine.

Ryan, now this is fascinating to me, b/c I've loved Lorraine since I was 11. My first scary movie (and still favorite to this day, besides The Exorcist, which actually took place in St.Louis, and involved a boy rather than a girl- btw) the movie is titled 'The Haunted' it is from 1991, and very rare to find. I bought two copies off of ebay for 30 bucks a piece! Yowza! You have to see it if you haven't already!
It's a true story about the Smurl family , and how Lorraine and her husband helped them.. it's incredible. I grew up living in 'haunted' houses, being tormented, touched, watched, and spoken to.. I had so many things happen to me, I could fill up this entire page. Shoot I could write a book. I'm definitely sensitive to spirits, somewhat prophetic, (psychic dreams) and very intuitive. I have a lot of Native American in my blood, and I follow my instincts and trust my heart always. I've also never been wrong on my judge of character! I had to face much evil and bad omens and deal with it, it was quite overwhelming, but it all made me spiritually stronger and brought me closer to God. I had a long period in my teens where I was alone and felt I was just cloaked in darkness- but with the Lord all things are possible, rest assured love conquers all!
My how I love that Lorraine, she's some kind of special! I have followed her work through the years.. she couldn't be any more inspiring, it's like she has super powers.. I hope to meet her one day.. I feel like just seeing her will enlighten me! Isn't that great? She radiates, and emanates this power and goodness and wisdom. What a great soul.. bless her heart for all the work she's done fearlessly, and helped so many.
To work with her.. is a blessing to say the least.. what a privilege and high honor. It only speaks of your future.. what it hold for you~ and I see GREATNESS Ryan, for sure! You are so blessed and smart and talented- you have no idea. Guard your heart sweetness-
O yeah, and by z way, you're not difficult, you're amazing. you just haven't met the right person yet- b/c you haven't met ME!
And let me know if you ever have an opening on the squad! yeeeah! I'll bring my super poer into the mix, I fear nothing.
I'm already a member of one highly profiled group, I don't want to brag, *clears throat*, we're called B.F.A. (bat fighters anonymous) founded in the early nineties.. ha ha! I love bats, they're beautiful creatures. I set them free! Spank it easy

I think Lorraine and Ed Warren were a credit to the study of paraphsychology, however, there are articles about Lorraines involvement in the Amityville investigation that is being reported as a hoax and that Lorraine had at one time stated she was embarrassed by this. So why connect her to that investigation when introducing her on the show. It doesn't look favorable to her and I think that part needs to be eliminated. She is a great demonologist and Amityville is not a credit to her.

My son 'heard' spirits talking to him one evening, but instead of welcoming this experience he's totally ignored it. He's only 15, but he's not to young to do what other people like John Edward does. I have tried to encourage him to listen, but he tells me "no"! He's almost 16 now. Should I try to encourage him, or just let it go?

No, because you don't know if it is a human spirit or inhuman spirit. Few humans are prepared to deal with the action once it start. I feel like my brother is posessed and my apartment is haunted but i don't encourage anything to happen? When the time is right, he will know! My gift is that I feel things off people but I don't know to harness it so I don't pursue my abilities. All of my family on my mom side is touched in some way or another, so let him have freedom of will. Best decision!

I woud not encourage your son dear. Be careful what door you open, especially when you know nothing of what might be on the other side. 'Dabbling' is the best way to invite the unwanted. Trust your son's instincts. I cannot tell you how many people have suggested I 'develop' my gifts, it is not for them to decide. He is aware and sensitive and knows exactly how far he is willing to proceed. At 15 I experienced numerous confusing and frightening events. Unable to protect myself at that age and the presence of fear made me a target. My sensitivities still exist, however the fear I had has been replaced by better control, faith, protective abilities and confidence. There are things I do not want to know and many spirits who for whatever reason seem to be attracted to me most unwelcome. This is not to say I do not ever have need to discern something, especially if it involves the safety of my loved ones (my daughter's spiritual attack for instance) but the whole point is CONTROL. At 15 you do not have it but may have very heightened senses. Do not urge your son to delve into the unknown unprotected. Perhaps you should concentrate more on awareness, faith, protection, etc. Good luck to you and your son. D

I enjoyed the article. It was very honorable for you to mention Lorraine and Ed, they were and still are a force to reckon with. I lived in the same town she lives in, now I am just one town over , but the rest of my family still does reside there. I have met Lorraine and Ed, just briefly, and they are wonderful people.
I have always wanted to be an assistant to Lorraine, but never had the courage to ask.
I, myself, have and still do , have experiences, that have been hard to explain, all my life , but I have come to terms with it. And hearing that Lorraine is a strong woman, to venture forward on her own is encouraging..
May God Bless you, Ryan,
Peace and Love,
Eddie

I understand how skeptical Matthew is, of course many people are, until they have their own personal experience. My father was very much like Archie Bunker regarding the spirit world until we moved into a brand new house in Olathe, Kansas in 1973. He had a job transfer from Dallas, TX, to Olathe. We lived their for about one year before moving back to Dallas & the number of situations that we witnessed and other family and friends witnessed is far too great to post here. Things started happening as soon as we moved in to the house. I was 11 & in 4th grade. Fast forward to 1999 and a move from Dallas to a very historical area of East TX, on land that has been in my husband's family for over 100 years. Things started happening here in our brand new house even before we moved in, as we were working on it. There is no logical explanation for some of the things that have happened. Of course you can always explain away trees brushing against the house, normal house groans, etc. However, some simply cannot be explained. Christ said that there is a thin veil separating the living from the dead. I think sometimes the veil is more transparent than other times, and science simply cannot provide all the answers, nor will it ever because science stems from mere humans working on equations. God has some secrets that He still does not want unveiled. I am an educated, but faith-filled woman. I feel that Lorraine Warren is made out of the same calibur. I admire her and always have. I love Jason & Grant from TAPS as well. It's refreshing to see Ryan bring something else to the table and he should be praised for bringing in Miss Lorraine. Since I have always been quite interested in this subject, and believe what Christ told us over 2,000 years ago, I hope to see more of Miss Lorraine. I also love the fact that Ryan unabashedly recites the Lord's Prayer and His help in these cases. I am proud to be a Christian and am very pleased that he is too! You go Ryan!!!! God Bless YOU!!!

Suzi, I am not skeptical of the paranormal world. I am skeptical of people who claim they "know" a "demon" comes from the "abyss" or "hell" and is a "minion of satan". I bet if you check those people's backgrounds, they have some sort of "christian" belief and/or money from either a book or movie deal. Truth is they just don't know any better because their "power" is to translate what they are being shown, not the energies true form.
Therefore, they see demons as dark shadows with red eyes, maybe big fangs and horns, and smell the stench of brimstone.
Because that's what people expect, and that is what the demon believes will scare those who see it. And it usually works. All those names that people believe are demonic are really just fictitios names made up by men to write about something that scared them.
It's no wonder the paranormal field is looked down upon. People take it so seriously, basing what they know about it on the Bible, a book that is as much fiction as it is fact, or on some guy who wrote about Hell having never been there in the first place.
Kinda sad really.

I, personally, LOVE Lorraine Warren. I admire her abilities not only to see into a situation, but to see into people's hearts. She seems to always know the right thing to say. I really enjoy when you guys bring her on the show. Once again, kudos.

Dear Ryan, Thank you for showing the world what really exsists out there. Since my childhood I have witnessed several unexplained events. In 1973 I was 4. My Nana had passed away in our home. 3 days later my mother screamed in our kitchen. I ran in to see her staring at my Nana's radio playing her fav. song on her favoite station, one small problem. It was high on the top self, not plugged in and no batteries. Im 38 and I NEVER forgot what I saw. Through the years I have dreams. One in particular made my skin crawl. I saw pink lined scented paper, it had a picture enclosed. The next day I had a "feeling" something wss not right. I followed my feeling, went to where it brought me and alas, I found pink lined scented paper with a photo enclosed. I do nt know the technical name for what I percieve or see in my dreams but I would like to learn how to use it better. Any help or direction you can point me in would also help. One more note. My brother when we were younger also saw a black figure in our closet as children, it has red glowing eyes and I saw it once he saw it every night and once we moved it never came back. I appreciate your time, your work and hope to someday be able to see one of your speaking engagements. LeeAnn, North Attleboro, MA.

Ryan thanks for posting this in ur blog. I love Lorraine Warren. I first heard about her through Discovery Channel's "A Haunting" (after school ritual for me lol) And the first thing in my mind was "man she's a lot like dumbledore!" Even though I most likely will never have the honor of meeting her in person, i could tell that she was a lovely woman inside and out. this entry just reaffirmed my opinion. I'm glad you got a chance to meet her, I'm sure she touches many lives a day in different ways and to have met her is a blessing i'm sure!

Lorraine Warren understands the voluntary and involuntary dimensions, and deals specifically with demon possession of objects and flesh. I would love to go to her house and see all the chi filled objects she has collected. She would be a great teacher of the important methods of reducing anxiety regarding problems that exceeded the ability of people to understand and control them, only because of the lack of technological expertise. Obviously, sympathetic power contains elements of both imitative and contagious magic.
