Settle Down, Children

While I originally removed comment moderation on my blog, I must now return to it.  Unfortunately, some people have taken to arguing with one another on a daily basis in the comments section.  Even worse, people are posting comments that are harassing and uncalled for.

I really want people to comment on my blogs, so my team and I will try to regularly post responses in a timely manner.

Thank you all!

You can't parent all of your fans- It is a part of human nature to share opinions and fight over the comments. I am happy that you have brought back the comment portion, and I thank you for your patience. To the general viewing population-share your feelings, don't say anything that you wouldn't say in church, and play nice!
Don't spoil it for everyone that follow the rules!

Ryan's Response: I agree Jenn, that we shouldn't have to "parent" the fan comments.  I think the problem with this current blog is that the comments are unmoderated and anyone can post under any assumed name.  Although part of the joy of the Internet is anonymity, there is definitely a fine line when people start threatening individuals or making very crude comments.  Until we can find a way to improve the comment software, we're just gonna have to go back to moderating every comment, which I don't have time for, so some unfortunate assistant is going to have to do it.  I feel sorry for him/her already.  We will resume comments soon, though.  Take care everyone! 7/27/2008
